Harv Fridley has volunteered to put together a Quarterly news letter. It will be sent out to all members and published on this webpage. Gillette Gun Club Newsletter LIFE MEMBERS: For any of you that have not picked up your key for the 2009/2010 year, we ask that you do it at the range and check in with Dave or Vonnie. They have the Life Member list and can better monitor who gets there key and when. It helps us keep it all straight. There will also be a three dollar charge for the key. GGC BANQUET: The Cam-Plex has been reserved for November 6 of 2010 for our first banquet. We are in need of four to five more members to join the organizational committee. Currently, Bill Singleton, Pete Quinnel, Rhame Haines, Jerry Williams, and Harv Fridley have committed. Give me a call at 660-3579. MONTHLY MEETINGS: The board will not be meeting again until the second Tuesday of March AT 7:30. For any concerns, please contact a board member. 100 YARD RANGE: Please continue to use the safety system and the flag provided. It seems to be a great idea and it is there for your safety. REGISTERED TRAPSHOOTERS: The state delegates have just completed their annual meeting in Casper and the new shoot schedule will be out soon. Stan Looney, the Vice President of the WSTA, will be your contact for any questions about where you can get a new registered shoot schedule. WEEKEND TRAPSHOOTING: Weather permitting, Bill Fitch will be opening the club for some fun shooting on the new wobble trap or just for practice shooting. Give Bill a call for times and additional information. PISTOL Classes: Don't forget that Marty Brown is still offering classes at the club and these classes will qualify you to apply for a concealed carry permit. Call Marty for class times and availability. editors note: Check out the Training Course for NRA training for the first Quarter of 2010 NATIONAL FINALS HIGH SCHOOL RODEO/NRA: During the week of July 19-25, the NHSFR and the NRA will be having a competition at the club to include shotgun and small bore shooting. Approximately 180 participants will be taking part and Marty Brown is in need of some volunteers to help out. Range Officers, Scorekeepers, Check In, Gate Keepers and more. Henry will be making firearms available for this event and they would like to find sponsors for the targets and possibly shells. This would be a chance for the club to get some good publicity locally. Give Marty a call if you could help out with your time or finances. CHRISTMAS IDEA: If you have a friend or know someone that is a shooter and does not use the club, perhaps giving them a one year membership would be money well spent and something that they could use all year long. PARTING SHOTS: We would like to thank you all for helping keep the grounds policed and in good shape. We know that there are times that things may not be as we all would like them to be but we can choose be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Thank you all. The board would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay safe in the field and on the range and let's go shooting! No alcohol is allowed on the property and if you are found to have any, your membership could be revoked. We do not want the club closed because some individuals are willing to risk breaking this cardinal rule. If you read the rules on the gate and at the clubhouse on the east end, you will see that no alcohol is allowed. For Sale If anyone would have any shooting related items they would like to sell, please give Harv Fridley a call and we would be glad to place them in the newsletter at no charge. This would be if we have the space available to do so. Check out the Classified section too.
